The next Apple iPad Air, iMac and Studio Display could get a long overdue display upgrade.

An anonymous source told the Upgrade podcast, which is hosted by Myke Hurley and Jason Snell, that Apple is developing a 90Hz refresh rate LCD display for the next iPad Air.

The source also said that Apple is working on bringing 90Hz displays to the 24-inch iMac and the next Studio Display. All these devices currently have displays with 60Hz refresh rates.

This is the first time we are hearing about 90Hz displays for Apple devices. Apple currently has 120Hz displays for Pro versions of the iPhone, iPad, and MacBook. Nonetheless, a higher refresh rate display is a long overdue and much-welcomed update for these devices.
