While Apple is expected to introduce the 12.9-inch iPad Pro with Mini-LED display next month, the company is also said to have plans for an OLED iPad and Mini-LED MacBook model in 2022.

Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo's latest research note indicates that Apple will introduce a Mini-LED MacBook Air and an OLED iPad Air next year. As Mini-LED is more expensive, Apple is said to opt for OLED for the other iPad models. For the other productivity devices such as the iMac, Kuo believes Apple has no plans to use OLED panels due to burn-in issues.

DigiTimes reported earlier this month that a 10.9-inch iPad with OLED screen is in the works. Korean publication TheElec claimed in November 2020 that Samsung and LG are working on new OLED panels for the iPad Pro models. A 2019 report suggests that Apple could use OLED panels for future iPads and MacBooks.
