Acer has announced the launch of two new Swift notebooks, the Acer Swift 14 AI (SF14-51) and Acer Swift 16 AI (SF16-51) Copilot+ PCs. These are the first new notebooks from Acer that are powered by new Intel Core Ultra processors (Series 2).
Besides the new processors, the two new notebooks come with built-in Intel Arc graphics, and a next-generation neural processing unit (NPU) that deliver up to 47 Trillions of Operations Per Second (TOPS). They can be equipped with up to 32 GB LPDDR5X-8448 memory, and up to a 1 TB PCIe Gen 4 NVMe SSD for storage.

They feature up to 3K HDR OLED displays, with DCI-P3 colour accuracy, HDR TrueBlack 500 certification, and Eyesafe 2.0 certification. The Swift 14 AI is available with a 14-inch 3K (90Hz refresh rate) or FHD (60Hz refresh rate) resolution display, while the Swift 16 AI line features a 16-inch 3K (120Hz refresh rate) panel.
Besides Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity, they also include a HDMI 2.1 port, two Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports, two USB-A ports, and a headphone/speaker jack.

Now notebooks these days are all about their AI capabilities and the new Swift 14 AI and Swift 16 AI certainly have their AI capabilities with Microsoft Copilot, accessible through the Copilot key, boosting productivity with AI features like intelligent task summaries, Recall, Live Captions, Microsoft Paint, and Cocreator. In fact, as an alert, the touchpad illuminates with an AI Activity Indicator when the NPU is utilised or if Copilot is activated.
Acer has included its own take on AI with apps like:
- AcerSense: This key gives one-touch access to various AI-powered tools, such as real-time system performance insights.
- Acer Assist: A privacy-centric, offline chat assistant that can summarise documents and troubleshoot issues with your laptop.
- Acer LiveArt 2.0 and VisionArt: AI-powered image editing and AI-generated wallpapers.
- User Sensing: Allows seamless transitions between laptop and monitor screens by automatically teleporting the cursor and switching the active window based on where the user is looking.
- Acer PurifiedView 2.0 and PurifiedVoice 2.0: These ensure you look and sound your best during video calls with different lighting and sound modes.
- User Sensing technology: This enables the proximity sensor adjacent to the webcam to detect the user’s presence, automatically locking the screen when the user moves away and waking up the device when the user returns.
But the brouhaha these days is about Copilot+ and according to Acer, this is coming to the new devices “through free updates by the end of this year”.
