The organisers of CES, the Consumer Technology Association, have confirmed NVIDIA’s CEO Jensen Huang will deliver a keynote at CES 2025 next January. This announcement comes amid rumours of its next-gen NVIDIA graphics cards appearing in early 2025.

While Jensen’s keynote will no doubt focus on the company’s AI hardware that has rocketed the company’s shares (NVIDIA is now valued at US$3 trillion), there’s anticipation that he will also reveal the company’s most powerful consumer GPU – the new GeForce RTX 50 series, and specifically the RTX 5090.

The RTX 5090, if unveiled, would succeed the RTX 4090, which set a new benchmark for GPU capabilities, and industry insiders are expecting substantial gains in efficiency and power.

NVIDIA typically launches its new GPUs in the later part of the year. For instance, the RTX 40 series was announced back in September 2022 followed by the launch a month later. But there are precedents for NVIDIA announcing new consumer graphics cards at CES – the RTX 40 series Super cards were announced at CES 2024.

I guess it’s a good time to start saving up now.
