NVIDIA will be giving Fortnite the RTX treatment, bringing to it real-time ray tracing support to the PC game. The announcement came as part of NVIDIA’s RTX 30 Series reveal earlier today. The game will also support DLSS 2.0, an NVIDIA feature that uses AI to boost frame rates while keeping ray tracing effects boosted. Check out the official reveal trailer below:

To showcase the possibilities of ray tracing and DLSS, NVIDIA has also partnered with popular Fornite creators to the RTX Treasure Run, which is accessible via the game’s Creative mode. The custom map has players racing to collect treasures faster than up to 3 others – while gawking at the ray-traced rooms, sight, and scene.

It is no secret that NVIDIA has struggled to get ray tracing out in a massive way when it launched with the RTX 20 Series cards. But with Minecraft already throwing its weight behind RTX and now Epic Game’s Fortnite, NVIDIA will have two of the biggest and most popular large-scale mainstream PC games showcasing the best that RTX cards have to offer.

Fortnite with RTX will be available in Fortnite Chapter 2 – Season 4 update this 17 September. The game will also feature support for NVIDIA's DLSS and Reflex technology.
