NBA fans will soon have a new way to experience selected LA Lakers matches this season.

In partnership with Spectrum SportsNet, Apple has announced a new Vision Pro app that will let fans watch live NBA matches in Apple’s Immersive Video format, captured using Blackmagic Design’s URSA Cine Immersive Live camera.

According to Apple, Vision Pro users with the Spectrum SportsNet app “will feel the intensity of each game as if they were courtside, with perspectives impossible to capture in traditional broadcasts.”

Full game replays and highlights will also be available to Vision Pro users in select countries and regions from both the Spectrum SportsNet and NBA apps. The game schedule will be revealed later this year, with the first immersive streaming slated for early next year.

Immersive Videos remain one of the most compelling reasons for the Vision Pro. In our review of the first-generation Vision Pro, we found the experience to be jaw-dropping.

Apple has expanded its library of Immersive Video content, which includes Boundless, the 2024 NBA All-Star weekend, Red Bull: Big-Wave Surfing, and Submerged.
