Zero1has enhanced its Zero1 Starter 4G Plus plan that costs S$7.06 a month to the likes of 100GB of data to roam in Malaysia, free 2GB of data for roaming in Asia (includes Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Taiwan, Philippines and India), free 5G access for three months, 300 minutes of local talk time, 100 free local SMSs and is available in both a physical SIM or eSIM.
However, there are a number of “a-ha” moments!
First, the 5G promotion is not applicable for Singtel and Singtel-brand mvno (GOMO and Heya) port-ins. After three months, it will revert to 4G service unless you opt to change the plan to Z-One 5G. It also appears as though Free Caller ID has been removed (when compared to what came with the plan before these changes).
Second, you need to sign up by 30 June to enjoy the free additional 2GB of data roaming. Sign-ups after 30 June 2025 can still access the data roaming but as a paid add-on.
Third, and the biggest “a-ha” for me, the free 100GB of data roaming for Malaysia is valid for 90 days only and does not reset thereafter. It is also only applicable for new sign ups and port ins by 28 Feb 2025 only.
In summary, the new basic plan by Zero1 offers the following if you sign up by 30 June 2025:
- 100 GB local data
- Free 2GB roaming data to Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Taiwan, The Philippines and India
- 100GB Malaysia Data Roaming (90 days)
- 5G speeds for three months
- 300 minutes of outgoing local talk time (with unlimited incoming minutes)
- 100 free SMS
- Available as Physical SIM and eSIM
