Qualcomm Shows Off New Quad-Core Chipset, Tops Benchmark Charts
Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon S4 Pro quad-core processor, the APQ8064 delivered quite impressive results on several benchmarks. Developers can purchase the mobile development platform (MDP) kit for US$1,299.

Qualcomm's Snapdragon S4 dual-core processors are currently giving quad-core processors a run of their money and its latest quad-core chipset, APQ8064, is set to blow the competition out of the water.
According to Slash Gear, Qualcomm's new mobile development platform (MDP) APQ8064 kit consists of an Android 4.0.4 tablet, and a charging dock with two USB 2.0 ports, HDMI and Ethernet. The 10.1-inch tablet sports a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels, 2GB RAM, multiple ports, fingerprint scanners, 13-megapixel cameras and 7 microphones. Developers can purchase the MDP from BSQUARE for US$1,299.
If you have concerns about the power consumption of the APQ8064 processors, Qualcomm promises "all-day battery life". Well, we can't wait to lay our paws on devices equipped with the new Snapdragon S4 Pro processors, which are expected to arrive later this year.
