Apple might phase out the iPad mini lineup

The iPad mini lineup might be killed off in the near future.

Apple's most portable tablet, the iPad mini 4, might be the last of its kind.

According to a source of BGR, Apple is considering to phase out the iPad mini lineup as the 7.9-inch tablet has been "sized out of its own category" by phablets and falling demand.

It is unclear at the moment whether Apple will continue to sell the iPad mini 4 without a refresh or take it off the shelves in the near future. Another possible scenario would be Apple replacing the iPad mini 4 with a 7.9-inch iPad Pro

The iPad mini was introduced in 2012 and received only three updates in five years. The recent refresh in March only saw Apple introduce a 128GB storage option for the iPad mini 4.
