Apple's most portable tablet, the iPad mini 4, might be the last of its kind.
According to a source of BGR, Apple is considering to phase out the iPad mini lineup as the 7.9-inch tablet has been "sized out of its own category" by phablets and falling demand.
It is unclear at the moment whether Apple will continue to sell the iPad mini 4 without a refresh or take it off the shelves in the near future. Another possible scenario would be Apple replacing the iPad mini 4 with a 7.9-inch iPad Pro.
The iPad mini was introduced in 2012 and received only three updates in five years. The recent refresh in March only saw Apple introduce a 128GB storage option for the iPad mini 4.
