When would Huawei announce the Mate 40?

Huawei Developer Conference 2020 has come and gone, and despite the many announcements, there’s no word on the highly-anticipated Mate 40 series.

Now, according to renowned leaker Evan Blass, the Mate 40 series might only arrive next year. That said, it’s unclear if that was his response to the phone’s no-show at HDC or based on info he’s gotten from his source.

According to Huawei Central, however, Huawei’s Consumer BG CEO Richard Yu has reiterated on his Weibo that the Mate 40 will arrive ‘as scheduled’.

It’s anybody’s guess what that schedule is, but when you put two and two together, a new rumour is now created: the Mate 40 will launch first in China (in Oct, apparently) and be available in international markets starting 2021.
