These Motorola smartphones will get Android 6.0 Marshmallow
Motorola published a blog post detailing the smartphone models in its lineup which are confirmed to get the update to Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Hit the link to find out more!
The Moto X (2014) is one of the several Motorola devices to be updated to Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
With Android 6.0 Marshmallow update hitting Nexus devices from next week and HTC devices in the "beginning end of 2015", Motorola also published a list of smartphone models in its portfolio which are getting the software update.
At time of publication, the following are listed to get the update:-
- 2015 Moto X Pure Edition (3rd gen)
- 2015 Moto X Style (3rd gen)
- 2015 Moto X Play
- 2015 Moto G (3rd gen)
- 2014 Moto X Pure Edition in the U.S (2nd gen)
- 2014 Moto X in Latin America, Europe and Asia (2nd gen)
- 2014 Moto G
- Moto G with 4G LTE
- Droid Turbo
- 2014 Moto Maxx
- 2014 Moto Turbo
- Nexus 6
While there is no specific timeline given, Bjorn Kilburn who is the VP of Motorola's Software Product Management, states in the blog post that more news will be shared in the coming weeks. He added that Motorola has high standards and will work fast though updates will not be pushed out unless they are ready.
