The leak is right after all - Sony has released a global variant of the Xperia Z4, the Xperia Z3+ although it is positioned as "a premium addition to the Xperia Z3 series".

As a quick recap, the Xperia Z3+ has the same specs as the Xperia Z4 such as a 5.2-inch Full-HD IPS display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 octa-core processor, 3GB RAM, Android 5.0 Lollipop, 32GB internal storage space and microSD support up to 128GB.

Other specs include a 20.7-megapixel rear autofocus camera with 4K video recording, a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, IP65/68 water and dust resistance, and a non-removable 2,930mAh battery. The battery is stated to provide up to two days of usage and supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0.

Unlike the previous Xperia smartphones, the Xperia Z3+ comes with a capless USB port which makes it easier to charge. The Xperia Z3+ is available in four colors (black, white, copper and aqua) and will be launched globally next month. Sony also states that it will have both single and dual-SIM variants.
