The Sharp Aquos R9 Pro comes with Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, triple 50MP cameras, and 240Hz display
With triple 50MP cameras, a fast 240Hz display, and the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chip, Sharp's latest phone looks like an attractive flagship option.

Sharp might be more well-known for its televisions and other home appliances, but the Japanese brand has been bringing some cool smartphones into Singapore as well, like the Aquos Sense9 and Aquos R8s Pro. Joining their ranks is Sharp's newest flagship phone, the Sharp Aquos R9 Pro.
The Aquos R9 Pro comes with a triple rear camera array consisting of a 50.3MP main camera, a 50.3MP wide-angle camera, and a 50.3MP telephoto camera that supports 20x hybrid zoom. Additionally, the front-facing selfie camera is also 50.3MP, which is one of the higher resolution selfie cameras we've seen so far.
The phone also comes with a dedicated physical shutter button for quicker focusing and capturing of shots.

The 6.7-inch QHD+ OLED display supports Dolby Vision and can get up to 2,000 nits of peak brightness. It also has a high refresh rate of up to 240Hz and is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2.
The phone is equipped with the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor, and the 5,000mAh battery inside supports 30W wired charging and 15W wireless charging.
There's an IP68 dust and water resistance rating for the phone, and Sharp claims that the internal vapour chamber and extra heat diffusion through the camera ring will allow the phone to power through intensive tasks or games without any worries about overheating or lag.
Based on first impressions, the Aquos R9 Pro looks like a promising option for folks who want flagship-class features at a slightly lower price.

In Singapore, the Aquos R9 Pro will come in a single 12GB+512GB variant (supporting a further 12GB of virtual RAM) and is priced at S$1,499.
However, as part of the launch promotions, the phone will be available at a promotional price of S$1,319 with a free pair of Sharp SH-TW45 earbuds gifted upon purchase.
The Sharp Aquos R9 Pro will be available from 6 December 2024 onwards on the Sharp CocoroLife e-store, LazMall, Shopee Mall and selected Best Denki, Challenger, Courts, Gain City and dealer stores island-wide.
