Samsung appears eager to share what it has planned next. The Koreans have uploaded an official teaser of a foldable phone, which is likely the next Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7.

As seen on Samsung Mobile Press’ website, Samsung showcased a GIF teaser with an unfolding, book-style phone. The teaser showed the foldable with a pencil-thin profile, which looks suspiciously similar to its recent Galaxy S25 Edge (review here).

In the blog post, Samsung said:

“The demand is clear — an Ultra-experience that goes beyond a simple list of upgraded features in a smaller and more portable form factor. That's why Galaxy's next chapter is to provide an experience that seamlessly blends artistry and engineering to elevate everyday interactions.”

This confirms that the foldable will be slimmer than before, while the blog post’s hashtags verify it’s referring to the Galaxy Z Fold7 (#galaxyfold and #galaxyzfold).

What’s noteworthy, however, is the mention of an “Ultra”. This is new to the Galaxy Z series, which is typically reserved for Samsung’s Galaxy S models, such as the Galaxy S25 Ultra.

For context, Samsung likes to append “Ultra” to products that represent its best-in-class offerings (see also: Galaxy Watch Ultra). Based on our experience, Ultra models are typically equipped with exceptional hardware and software that exceed a typical user’s day-to-day needs.

The brand added that it will still offer Galaxy AI, but customised for its foldable form factor.

In a previous announcement, Samsung also said that the upcoming foldables will use One UI 8 (based on Android 16), which is also new to phones in general.

We expect more information about Samsung's new foldables to be announced as the launch draws near, so stay tuned to our coverage.
