Samsung Galaxy Note 5 to be powered by Exynos 7420 chip and 4GB RAM?

Cross-platform processor benchmark Geekbench 3 reveals that the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 will be powered by the Exynos 7420 octa-core processor and 4GB RAM.

Samsung will be using one of its Exynos chipset on its upcoming Galaxy Note 5. 

According to benchmark results from Geekbench 3, the Galaxy Note 5 is revealed to be powered by an Exynos 7420 octa-core chipset and 4GB RAM. If you find the name of the processor familiar, it is because the same processor can be found on the Galaxy S6

As a quick recap, the Exynos 7420 is based on ARM's big.LITTLE architecture with four Cortex-A57 cores at 2.1GHz and four Cortex-A53 cores at 1.5GHz. It also is the first mobile chipset to be built on a 14nm fabrication process which makes it more power efficient.

With the continued use of its own Exynos chipsets for its flagship smartphones, . The results from Geekbench 3 also confirms an earlier rumor that the Galaxy Note 5 will come with 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM. Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 edge+ on 12th August
