Samsung and SK Hynix reportedly not selling chips to Huawei from 15 Sep

Samsung and SK Hynix will suspend business with Huawei on 15 September to comply with the U.S trade restrictions.

Huawei may not be able to order chips from Samsung and SK Hynix soon.

According to Chosun IIbo and other Korean news sites, Samsung and SK Hynix are going to suspend business with Huawei on 15 September to comply with the U.S trade restrictions. TSMC and MediaTek have stopped supplying chips to Huawei, but MediaTek has applied for permission with the U.S government to continue selling chips to the Chinese company.

To keep its smartphone business alive, Huawei is said to have approached UNISOC to buy more mobile chips. As the second biggest mobile chip designer in China, UNISOC had previously supplied a small number of chipsets for Huawei's entry-level mobile devices. Huawei's current stocks of mobile chips are only sufficient for the launch of its next flagship phones, the Mate40 series.
