We've been impressed by Poco, Xiaomi's sub-brand, before, with good reviews for the F6 series and F5 Pro. However, the newly announced Poco X7 series is even more affordable, with prices starting at just S$389.
Having previously covered the launch of the Poco X6 series, we were glad to learn that Poco has not increased prices. The Poco X7 Pro starts at the same S$449 price point.
Poco took it one step further with a tiny price cut to the base Poco X7 model, making it even more attractive to value-seekers where every dollar counts.
That being said, Poco certainly didn't cut corners on the hardware side, with features that would fulfill nearly all basic needs.

The Poco X7 Pro features the new flagship-lite MediaTek Dimensity 8400-Ultra processor, up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage. Users who know their hard specs can tell these are generous and modern components, betraying its affordability slant.
It also features Poco's WildBoost Optimisation 3.0 for stable gaming frame rates and LiquidCool Technology 4.0, which has an ultra-large cooling area of 5,000mm2 for better thermal performance.
Given that the phone prioritises gamers, its 6.67-inch Flow AMOLED display (1.5K resolution, 120Hz refresh rate) has a unique perk: 2,560Hz touch sampling rate with Game Mode enabled, that far exceeds any reaction time (unless you're superhuman). It also has all the other hygiene factors checked off, like 3,200-nits peak brightness and 12-bit colour depth (100% DCI-P3 colour gamut).
It sports a 50MP primary camera with OIS, and a massive 6,000mAh battery that supports 90W HyperCharge wired charging with the included charger.
Oddly, the more expensive Poco X7 Pro has Corning Gorilla Glass 7i, while the Poco X7 has Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2.
That's one cost-saving feature we didn't mind, as the phone still has IP68 dust and water resistance, Dual SIM Dual Standby (5G), NFC, Bluetooth 5.4, and Wi-Fi 6 support.
We've reviewed the Poco X7 Pro in detail and you can read it here.

The Poco X7 uses the slightly older MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Ultra processor and comes with up to 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 2.2 storage.
It's not quite as beastly as its older brother, but it still has nice features, such as a 120Hz refresh rate, a peak brightness of 3,000 nits, the same 50MP main camera with OIS, and 5G compatibility.
The 5,110mAh battery inside should be plenty of juice for most users, and the 45W charging will get the phone powered up quickly.
Poco X7 also has IP68-rated dust and water resistance, and the same 6.67-inch, 120Hz refresh rate AMOLED display with insane Game Mode touch sampling rate, but a lower 3,000-nits peak brightness.
