Oppo is announcing the next breakthrough in fast charging for smartphones later this week.
The company shared in a tweet that it will be introducing 125W fast charging on 15 July. Oppo is unlikely to introduce a new smartphone that supports 125W fast charging, but we can get a preview and timeline as to when the feature will be coming to commerical devices.
It is estimated that 125W fast charging is able to top up a flat battery in 15 minutes or less. However, fast charging has other issues as accelerated battery degradation and safety concerns.
Oppo currently has the fasted wired charging solution in the market with its 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 Flash Charge. The Find X2 Pro's battery was able to go from 0% to 100% in an hour less, consistently during our review.
