OPPO has confirmed that the launch of the Reno12 series in China will happen on 23 May at 4pm SGT. The series is expected to include the Reno12 and the more powerful Reno12 Pro.
While the company has not revealed exactly how many models will be part of the series, leaks suggest there will be at least the Reno12 and a higher-end Reno12 Pro variant. Like its predecessor, the Reno12 series looks to be classed between a mid-range phone and a budget flagship.

According to rumours, the standard OPPO Reno12 is expected to be powered by MediaTek's Dimensity 8250 chipset, while the Pro model will boast the Dimensity 9200+ Star Speed Edition processor. It is unclear what the difference is between the regular 9200+ chipset and the Star Speed Edition will be. The Reno12 Pro is said to also feature a larger 6.7-inch 1.5K resolution 120Hz display, and a 5,000mAh battery with support for 80W of wired charging.
Based on renders and official images, one major difference is the camera bump. The Reno12 series will have a rectangular bump compared to the oval shape of the last-generation Reno11 series. Additionally, the Reno12 Pro is said to have three 50MP cameras on the rear (main, 2x telephoto, and ultrawide), and a 50MP selfie camera.
In the lead-up to the launch event, we've seen official teasers from OPPO and leaked renders from famous leaker, Evan Blass (@evleaks). The images reveal a sleek, modern aesthetic with a curved display and the aforementioned rectangular camera housing on the rear panel. The devices appear to be offered in several colour options including black, silver, purple, and a peach/pink shade.

Considering the current hype surrounding all things AI, it's likely the Reno12 phones will also come with some AI-enabled features. Furthermore, OPPO recently rolled out the AI Eraser feature to the Reno11 series.
