OnePlus unveils AI Eraser tool, plans to roll out more AI features this year

OnePlus is jumping on the generative AI bandwagon with the introduction of its AI Eraser feature.
Similar to Samsung's Generative Edit and Google's Magic Editor, OnePlus' AI Eraser helps to remove unwanted objects from photos.
Google first introduced the Magic Eraser in 2021 with the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro.
OnePlus say its AI Eraser tool is powered by the company's proprietary large language model. However, it did not elaborate if it's an on-device AI feature or if it requires an internet connection. That said, it did say that it will introduce more AI features later this year.
The AI Eraser feature will begin rolling out this month to select OnePlus devices such as the OnePlus 12/12R, OnePlus 11, OnePlus Open and OnePlus Nord CE 4.
It's unclear at this point if this feature will enabled via an Oxygen OS update or by updating only the OnePlus Photo Gallery app.
