Microsoft to release Surface Phone by April 2017

Microsoft's Surface Phone is coming. In a year's time.

According to Windows Central, sources claim that the Surface Phone will be released by April 2017. Apparently, Microsoft is still waiting for the completion of Windows 10 Redstone 2 which is said to be bring new features for PC and mobile. Windows Central also heard, for the first time, a Redstone 3 update for Windows 10 and mobile. 

Both Redstone 2 and 3 are reportedly focused on "innovation around mobile phones". The Surface Phone seems to be an integral part of the strategy with Microsoft focusing on making it the most secure phone in the world and the best phone for productivity.

There might be more than one Surface Phone. Windows Central previously reported that up to three variants could be launched for different markets
