LG finally unveiled the Velvet smartphone in South Korea after weeks of teasers.
As expected, the Velvet smartphone comes with a 6.8-inch FHD+ OLED display with a tiny notch at the top edge housing a 16MP camera. Running under the hood are the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765 with an integrated 5G modem, 8GB RAM, 128GB internal storage space with microSD support, Android 10 and a 4,300mAh battery.
The Velvet is the first phone in the LG's new product roadmap to feature a new minimalistic design with a "Raindrop" camera setup. The vertical camera module layout consists of a 48MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide angle lens and a 5MP depth sensor. While the Velvet supports stylus input, it does not come with one.
LG is reportedly selling the Velvet for around US$700 in South Korea. It is available in four colour options: aurora white, aurora gray, aurora green and illusion sunset. There is no word on its international availability at time of publication.
