LG confirms launch date for its Velvet smartphone
LG will be unveiling its midrange smartphone, the Velvet in the first week of May.
Contrary to earlier reports of a mid-May announcement, LG has confirmed via its Korean YouTube channel that the launch event will be on 7 May.
Besides revealing the launch date for the phone, the 15-second teaser video highlights the new design language that it is adopting for its smartphones this year. The Velvet phone will be the first to launch under the company's new mobile strategy.
Other official teasers by LG confirm the Velvet to have 5G connectivity and the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765 mobile platform.
