LG G6 to be revealed at MWC 2017, market rollout to start on 10 March

A senior LG official reportedly told ETNews that the company will be revealing the LG G6 smartphone at Mobile World Congress 2017 next month. Other sources also told ETNews that the G6 will hit retail shelves on 10 March.

Taking advantage of the rumored delayed launch of the Samsung Galaxy S8 this year, LG is said to have planned for an earlier launch.

According to ETNews, a senior LG official said that the G6 will be revealed on 26 February which is a day before Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017. Sources who are familiar with LG's product roadmap also added that the G6 will be rolled out in Korea on 10 March.

Compared to last year's G5 launch, LG seems to be adopting a more aggressive strategy this time. LG is likely to ditch the modular design of the G5 and opted for a more traditional design this year. The G6 smartphone has also been confirmed to sport a 5.7-inch "Quad HD+" display with an aspect ratio of 18:9.
