Launch of Bixby Voice in the U.S reportedly delayed
Another embarrassing delay for a key feature of the Samsung Galaxy S8.
When Samsung rolled out Bixby Voice in South Korea last month, there was hope that the rest of the world could be next. However, the latest report from The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) suggests otherwise.
The WSJ claims that the English-language version of Bixby Voice will not be ready by the end of June as Samsung is still trying to figure out how to get the software to reliably understand English. The earliest possible date is stated to be sometime in summer, which starts from 21st June.
Touted as one of the main features on the Galaxy S8 and S8+, the latest delay is yet another embarrassment for Samsung. Earlier in April, a source told the WSJ that the performance of the English-speaking version of Bixby was not on-par with the Korean counterpart in voice recognition capabilities.
