As the keynote announcing Apple’s 2023 iPhones draws nearer, more leaks have started to surface — this time, it’s about the available colours these iOS handsets will have at launch.
9To5Mac has learnt that the iPhone 15 Pro series won’t be offering a gold variant of the phone, owing to the change in materials used.
Per the report, iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max will use titanium instead of stainless steel for their body. Using titanium meant having lighter phones, but working with the new material choice’s finish and lustre also eliminates gold as an option from these handsets.
In its place, the titanium phones will get a new grey colourway. This is in addition to the dark blue signature colour, which would replace last year’s purple as the signature choice. 9To5Mac also added that the dark red variant isn’t the special colour for the iPhone 15 series, despite previous rumours indicating so.
The non-Pro iPhones (iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus) are said to have five colours (black, green, blue, yellow, and pink), with a sixth unknown colour coming in early 2024 (as with tradition).
