The Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max is tipped to be the best-selling model of the series in the first half of this year.

Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claims in his latest note that the iPhone 15 Pro Max will account for 40% - 45% of all iPhone 15 shipments in the first half of the year.

Kuo made this claim while commenting that the popularity of the iPhone 15 Pro Max will greatly pad the wallets of Largan – the sole supplier of the expensive tetraprism lens component in the iPhone 15 Pro Max.

According to Kuo, the iPhone 15 Pro Max alone is expected to increase Largan's 1H24 revenue by NT$3.4 billion to NT$3.8 billion over the same period last year. This translates to a 20% to 25% YoY revenue growth.

With Apple rumoured to be bringing the periscope lens to the iPhone 16 Pro later this year, Largan's revenue is likely to grow further next year since the iPhone Pro models have proven themselves to be hot favourites among consumers.

That said, a report by The Elec stated that Apple is keen to diversify its supply chain and boost yields of the tetraprism component and is looking to add LG Innotek as the second supplier of this component.
