The LTE-equipped HTC One XL will be joining its Tegra 3-touting One X soon as it will be available from early June at a recommended retail price of S$998 (inclusive of GST) without line contract.
It's hard to differentiate between the HTC One XL and One X since both devices come in a similar polycarbonate unibody chassis. The most important differences between the two devices are the processor and LTE support.
The HTC One XL shares the same processor as the ASUS PadFone which we recently reviewed - Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 dual-core 1.5GHz processor. Based on the Quadrant benchmark, the NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor on the HTC One X fared unfavorably against the Snapdragon S4 processor.
Last but not least, the HTC One XL operates on the 1800MHz and 2600MHz frequency bands, making it the first LTE device to be supported by all three telcos. The third generation Apple iPad operates on the 700MHz and 2100MHz frequency bands, hence rendering its LTE feature useless in Singapore.
