Google I/O 2012 App Released on Google Play

Google has released a companion app for Android users on Google Play for its upcoming I/O 2012 event, allowing users to sync events/sessions with their calendar, and better follow and participate in #io2012 discussions on Google+.

Well, Google has gone ahead five days before its big I/O event and unveiled a companion app for Android users on Google Play. This is hardly surprising news of course, given that previous companies have had official apps released a few days before their conferences/events, e.g., Apple's WWDC 2012 or Samsung's Mobile Unpacked 2012, to cater to interested parties.

In this day and age, social media plays a huge aspect in spreading the word and this is evident in Google's Google I/O 2012 app. The app not only allows users to sync events/sessions with their calendars but also to share them on Google+. A Google+ stream of the #io2012 hashtag is built-in as well, allowing users to read and participate in public #io2012 conversations on Google+.

The app is now available for download on Google Play and is primed to work well on both Android smartphones and tablets. There's a lot of speculation going on right now about both the Jelly Bean (Android 4.1) update as well as the Nexus tablet - alleged to be manufactured by ASUS and/or Samsung -, so if you are looking to update yourself about the upcoming event, do check out the app here.
