It appears that Google has let the cat out of the bag by accidentally confirming the name of its next Android version and the first device to be powered by it.

According to Tech Crunch, the leak was spotted on Google Play Store where a blurb described the unlocked Samsung Galaxy Nexus as the "first phone with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean'. In addition, a small image of the Galaxy Nexus shows slight changes to the Android user interface.

Little is known about the new features of Jelly Bean except for a few rumors that had been circulating around even before the launch of Android 4.0 (also known as Ice Cream Sandwich). A reliable source close to ThisIsMyNext claimed that some "game-changing features" scheduled for Android 4.0 were pushed back to Jelly Bean.

A more recent report in February by DigiTimes mentioned that Jelly Bean would arrive in Q2 with more optimization for larger screen devices such as notebooks and tablets. Moreover, it stated that Google is pushing partners to make dual-booting devices that can switch between Jelly Bean and Windows 8 without a reboot.

Google is also expected to unveil its 7-inch Nexus-branded tablet at its I/O conference next week. Known as the Google ASUS Nexus 7, the tablet will be powered by NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor, Android 4.1 and has a screen resolution of 1,280 x 768 pixels.
