Details on A11 processor, RAM and rear camera revealed in iOS 11 GM firmware
Developer Steve Troughton Smith continues to dig through the leaked iOS 11 GM firmware and found new information on the A11 processor, RAM and rear cameras which are coming to the new iPhones.

More hardware details about the new iPhones are revealed through the leaked iOS 11 GM firmware.
According to iOS developer Steve Troughton Smith, the upcoming A11 processor will feature 6 cores (two high-performance cores and four energy-efficient cores) which are all independently addressable. In comparison, the A10 found in the iPhone 7/7 Plus is a quad-core chipset with two high performance cores and two energy-efficient cores. Smith claims that the A11 chipset is going "to be a Geekbench monster" with 4100+ single core and probably 10K+ on multi-core scores.
As for the RAM, Smith states that Apple will continue to equip the 4.7-inch iPhone 8 with 2GB RAM, and the 5.5-inch iPhone 8 Plus and 5.8-inch iPhone X with 3GB RAM. For the iPhone X, it will have the same 12MP dual-camera module with support for 4K video at 60fps and 1080p video at 240fps. The front-facing camera will be 7MP with support for 1080p at 30fps.
The leaked iOS 11 GM firmware has revealed new case finishes and digital crown for the LTE Apple Watch, and more details about how Face ID will work on the iPhone X. Apple will be announcing the new iPhones on 12 September (13 September, 1AM SGT) at the Steve Jobs Theater in Apple Park Campus.
