Research firm IDC claims sales of the Apple iPhone 16E are off to a good start. IDC's market tracker indicates that the early sales figures for the Apple iPhone 16E have surpassed the last-generation iPhone SE by a substantial margin.
According to IDC, the Apple iPhone 16E saw 60% stronger sales than its predecessor in the first three days of its launch. This is a notable achievement considering its $200 price hike over the last iPhone SE.
The higher sales could be attributed to two factors. First, the iPhone 16E offers the lowest price point (compared to the rest of the iPhone 16 lineup) for people with older iPhones or Android phones to switch. Second, enterprises may deem the iPhone 16E an excellent phone for their employees due to the better security, privacy, and software support.
We reviewed the Apple iPhone 16E and found it a solid offering with top-tier performance, a brilliant display, decent battery life, and a good camera. However, it has several shortcomings. It only has a single camera and lacks a high refresh rate display and support for Wi-Fi 7. These are features Android phones offer at comparable or even lower price points.
