As some of you might know, Redmagic has been marketing its phones directly to gamers since its inception in 2018. Looking past the flashy RGB lighting and sleek designs, do Redmagic phones actually raise the gaming experience to be labelled a gamer’s phone?

I managed to get a hold of a Redmagic 10S Pro, the successor to the Redmagic 10 Pro that was bestowed a Best Value award earlier this year, and have spent some time testing it out. I won’t spill the details here, as it’s best understood by watching my gameplay findings and experience I’ve conveyed in the video, but let’s just say it does have its strengths and some quirks you might wanna know about before considering getting a Redmagic phone.

From performance to comfort, I tested how it feels while playing a high-performance game like Zenless Zone Zero. The results might actually surprise you, and there’s a lot to unpack, so it’s better if I show you my full gaming experience video review.

After all the testing, I feel the Redmagic 10S Pro does a pretty decent job as a gaming phone, with no performance issues to note. Although there are some negative points worth noting (as shown in the video), they are mostly subjective or have workarounds. But is it worth buying a Redmagic phone just for gaming? Well, that depends on which side of the fence you’re standing on and if the concerns raised matter to you. In short, it’s not yet clear, but the decision will come down to your preferences.
