Is OPPO Reno14 Pro the best phone for photographing cosplayers?
The mecca of professional and enthusiast cosplayers puts up a worthy challenge to OPPO’s portrait-forward camera phone.

OPPO’s mid-range Reno series smartphones need little introduction. As a camera-first smartphone range, the brand’s focus on its photography capabilities is, to put it lightly, well-documented:
OPPO Reno14 Pro.
Enter the OPPO Reno14 Pro, recently available in Singapore at S$999 (512GB), accompanied by a rather unbelievable launch bundle. It promises top-tier photography with its triple 50MP rear shooters, and has even enhanced its built-in photo editor, which addresses a core tenet of portrait shots: composition.
Rear Camera | Specification |
50MP main | f/1.8 aperture, OIS, AutoFocus, FOV 85° |
50MP ultrawide | f/2.0 aperture, AutoFocus, FOV 116° |
50MP telephoto (3.5x optical zoom) | f/2.8 aperture, OIS, AutoFocus, FOV 30° |
50 front | f/2.0 aperture, AutoFocus, FOV 90° |
A standout feature is AI Recompose, which allows the OPPO Reno14 Pro to analyse your photos and suggest multiple crops to enhance your framing. The feature is an editing option inside OPPO’s default Photos app.
This feature is useful for both trained photographers and casual shooters. So long as you can get a subject within your shot, the editing tool can figure out how best to position and present subjects using classic composition rules.
What’s not said by OPPO is that it can do a lot more than just cropping. In a single tap, AI Recompose gives you anywhere from one to four suggested aspect ratios, auto-rotate for better orientation, and it even suggests how to position your subject for better framing.
Such edits, although common, are usually a multi-step process, even for professional shooters. The editing tool not only makes it simple for users who don’t understand photography, but it also saves plenty of time for seasoned ones who have far too many photos to post-process.
Imaging Samples
Note: Photos are resized for web-friendly uploading, and post-processing was limited to AI Recompose. Shots are taken with the 50MP main camera or its 50MP telephoto (3.5x optical zoom) camera.

To demonstrate the imaging competency and editing convenience of the OPPO Reno14 Pro, we relied on the good graces of many professional and enthusiast cosplayers seen at Anime Festival Asia’s Creator Super Fest 2025 (organised by Sozo Pte Ltd), which happened at Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre, Halls 404 to 406, over the weekend (2 to 3 August 2025).
