Ever since Samsung went on the record about its tri-fold smartphone, consumer tech enthusiasts and Samsung fans have been keeping a close eye on its persistent launch rumours. All of them turned up nothing — until now.

Mainstream South Korean broadsheet newspaper The Chosun Ilbo has published a series of images showcasing the Samsung tri-fold smartphone. It was unveiled at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) CEO Summit, a leadership conference held at Gyeongju Arts Center featuring NVIDIA’s president and founder, Jensen Huang, and the CEO of Amazon Web Services, Matt Garman.

As described by The Chosun Ilbo, this Samsung tri-fold phone has two hinges and a tablet-like aspect ratio that unfolds into a 10-inch display from its 6.5-inch folded state. It also managed to squeeze Samsung for information, including its forecasted production of 50,000 to 100,000 units and its expected retail price that’s above KRW 3 million (more than ~S$2,701.88).

Separately, famous smartphone tipster PhoneArt (a.k.a. @UniverseIce on Twitter/X) uploaded a single photo of the Samsung tri-fold handset with the caption “Galaxy Z Trifold!”. The image also shows the phones in an unfolded state. It also tallies with the displays seen by The Chosun Ilbo, where the phones are available for viewing but not for touching.

Looks like the launch of Samsung’s tri-fold phone is imminent.
