Nothing’s first “true flagship” phone ditches the brand’s iconic Glyph Interface lights
The Nothing Phone (3) gets a bold redesign with new functionality and upgraded internals.

After six impressive phones like the Phone (2) and Phone (2a), Nothing is finally launching its first “true flagship” smartphone with the Nothing Phone (3). The Phone (3) gets a redesign, new cameras and improved hardware, but the biggest change has to be the shift away from the Glyph Interface LED lights on the rear.
Even though the Glyph Interface LEDs on the back of Nothing’s phones have been their iconic, defining feature since the very beginning, the company now feels secure enough to move away from it entirely with the new Nothing Phone (3). Instead, this new flagship device gets a small circular LED dot Glyph Matrix display on the rear that bundles in new and old features. Check out our hands-on experience and all the neat tricks it can do:-

Features are now called Glyph Toys, and thanks to the display, there are things like an actual stopwatch, a battery percentage indicator and even a selfie mirror so you can take high-quality selfies with the rear camera instead of the front selfie camera.
There are also new features like the ability to play Spin the Bottle and Rock Paper Scissors for party games. Additionally, we can probably look forward to new additions in the future with community-developed options, including existing ones like Magic 8 Ball and a Leveller tool.
Note the new Glyph Matrix display in the top right.
The Glyph Matrix is controlled by a capacitive button on the rear that switches between Glyph Toys and activates them.
Nothing has also improved the hardware, with 50MP main, ultrawide and selfie cameras. This time around, there’s a new 50MP periscope telephoto camera that has optical image stabilisation (OIS) and supports 3x optical zoom.
The 6.67-inch AMOLED display supports a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of up to 4,500 nits. Unfortunately, it’s only protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i and not something more durable like Gorilla Glass Victus.
Like most phones in its class, the Phone (3) has a triple camera system.
Internally, Nothing has opted to move away from using an older flagship processor in favour of opting for a current-gen flagship-lite chip, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 4. There’s also an upgrade to UFS 4.0 storage, while retaining LPDDR5X RAM and the phone gets an IP68 dust and water resistance rating.
Everything’s powered by a new 5,150mAh silicon-carbon battery that supports 65W wired charging and 15W wireless charging. Running on Nothing OS 3.5, the company has promised five years of Android updates and seven years of security updates.
