From a triple-screen foldable phone to a sideways-opening flip phone, there is no shortage of surprises when it comes to Huawei devices. The new Pura 80 series is the 2025 update to Huawei’s flagship series, replete with innovative camera upgrades.

Huawei Pura 80 Ultra and Pro

There are two models in the Pura 80 range, the Pura 80 Ultra and the Pura 80 Pro.

Both have similar designs, reusing the triangular camera bump previously found on the Pura 70 series. The phones are equipped with the Kirin 9020 processor, which is Huawei’s new 7nm chipset that was announced in late 2024.

As usual, these phones still run on Huawei Mobile Services (HMS), which means you won’t get Google Mobile Services or the Google Play Store; however, workarounds still exist.

Both phones feature a 6.8-inch LTPO OLED display that supports an adaptive refresh rate of 1-120Hz, with 3,000-nits peak brightness. The Pro model features 2nd-generation Kunlun Glass, while the Ultra model boasts 2nd-generation Crystal Armour Kunlun Glass, which offers enhanced scratch resistance. Both have IP68/IP69-rated dust and water resistance.

The Pura 80 Pro gets a 50MP 1-inch Ultra Lighting main camera, a 40MP ultra-wide-angle camera and a 48MP Ultra Lighting Macro Telephoto camera, which supports a 5cm focus distance in addition to a 4x optical zoom. But the true camera innovation comes in the Pura 80 Ultra.

The Pura 80 Ultra gets a 50MP 1-inch Ultra Lighting HDR camera, a 40MP ultra-wide-angle camera and two telephoto cameras that can switch as needed.

There’s a 50MP telephoto camera with a 3.7x optical zoom, and for further subjects, a 12.5MP telephoto camera is available, providing 9.4x optical zoom. There is sensor shift OIS on both telephoto cameras to ensure that photos come out sharp.

Both models are powered by a 5,170mAh battery, and they support 100W Huawei SuperCharge wired charging and 80W wireless charging.
