Spotted: Upcoming Xiaomi outlet is right above Apple Store at Jewel Changi Airport

If Xiaomi’s renaming of their flagship phone models to match Apple’s wasn’t a clear enough sign of the Chinese company’s love for the tech giant, the location of Xiaomi’s new flagship store will definitely leave no doubt in your mind.

After refurbishing a whole bunch of outlets earlier this year, it appears that Xiaomi is going ahead with another store set to open in Jewel Changi Airport.

While there aren’t many details out about the new store yet, the hoarding on the storefront states that this is set to be Xiaomi’s new flagship store.

The store is also already listed on Xiaomi’s Singapore website, but with a generic placeholder photo and not a representation of how the store will actually look.

We’re assuming it’s going to be another self-managed store similar to the Funan and City Square Mall stores, since it was categorised as a “Xiaomi Store” instead of “Xiaomi Experienced Store” (the latter is for authorised Xiaomi retailers, while the former refers to its directly-managed outlets).

Other details are still up in the air. 

We’ve reached out to Xiaomi to confirm if it’s a self-managed store, as well as to check on the official opening date, and we’ll update this article once we have answers.
