New Apple TV model expected to debut alongside the iPhones and LTE Watches

The September event would see the introduction of a new Apple TV model.

Apple is expected to introduce a new Apple TV model at its rumored 12th September event alongside the Apple Watch Series 3 and new iPhones.

Sources told Bloomberg that the iPhone maker will unveil the upgraded Apple TV which can stream 4K video and highlight live TV content. The new Apple TV model can also play content optimized for TVs that can play High Dynamic Range (HDR) videos. It will be equipped with a more powerful processor and may include an updated version of the TV app which can aggregate programming from apps that already offer live streaming. 

Earlier this year, Bloomberg reported that the Apple TV with 4K output was undergoing testing. The Wall Street Journal reportedly recently that Apple has prepared $1 billion to "procure and produce" content in 2018. Apple also went on an hiring spree in recent months by recruiting veterans in the industry such as former YouTube and Spotify executive Shiva Rajaraman and two top Sony TV staff.
