During their now annual Inno Day 2020, Oppo showcased their new “3+N+X” technology development strategy for the first time, plus three products that sets out its vision to meet their “Leap into the Future” theme.
“3” refers to the three underlying technologies of hardware, software and services. “N” represents Oppo's capabilities around AI, security and privacy, multimedia, and interconnectivity. "X" covers leading-edge and differentiated technologies such as the flash charge technology that foster innovation and improve user experience.
Concept not reality

As with the event last year, Oppo rolled out a series of concept products to tempt us.
This year the company debuted the Oppo X 2021 rollable concept handset, Oppo AR Glass 2021 and Oppo CybeReal AR application.

Oppo’s concept “rollable” phone starts looking like a regular 6.7-inch OLED smartphone, but the screen slowly unrolls rather than unfolds into a 7.4-inch larger display. It does this through the use of three proprietary technologies developed to address durability issues. These include the Roll Motor powertrain, 2-in-1 Plate, and self-developed Warp Track high- strength screen laminate.

The other new concept product announced today is Oppo AR Glass 2021. This follows on from the model announced during the Inno Day in 2019. The AR Glass 2021 has a new design that allows it to be 75% lighter than its predecessor. The glasses include stereo fisheye cameras for gesture recognition, a time-of-flight sensor, and a conventional RGB camera. They can also be hooked up directly to a Find X2 Pro phone with a USB-C cable to make use of its greater processing power.

The CybeReal AR application powered by real-time, spatial calculation technology enables high-precision localisation and scene recognition and is supported by Oppo’s three core technologies, including accurately reconstructing the world to the smallest detail, real-time high-precision localisation.

As we mentioned earlier, as these are concepts, we don’t have a timeline for any launch. However, their smartwatch and fast wireless charging system announced at last year’s event were launched this year, so we will update you should we hear of any news.
