Sony has added a new colour, Smoky Pink, to its most popular personal audio products, the WH-1000XM5 headphones and WF-1000XM5 earbuds.
The new colourway was launched in collaboration with K-pop girl group LE SSERAFIM as part of Sony’s For The Music campaign and the release of the group's new song, Crazy.
Sony’s campaign is a partnership between chart-topping music performers and the brand’s flagship products. Previous songmakers that Sony has worked with include Olivia Rodrigo (for the LinkBuds S), Miguel (for the WF-1000XM5), and Peso Pluma (for the Ult Power series).
For LE SSERAFIM, Sony has decided that Smoky Pink “fits perfectly” with the girl group’s visuals, partly due to the group’s “fearless attitude, chic fashion sensibilities, and empowering songs”. As seen in Crazy’s official music video, the song has amassed 63 million views on YouTube after just ~20 days of release, and also got 39.4 million listens on Spotify since the song’s debut on the streaming platform.
Pricing, availability of Smoky Pink WH-1000XM5 and WF-1000XM5 in Singapore

The Smoky Pink colourway for WH-1000XM5 and WF-1000XM5 are available in Singapore from 27 September 2024 onwards.
They are available at Sony Store, 313@Somerset (Google Maps link), as well as the Sony Online Store (WF version, WH version).
The launch prices are S$569 for the WH-1000XM5 and S$419 for the WF-1000XM5. However, as the Sony Online Store URLs above show, both models, (including the new colourway) are available at a 20% discount, on top of a reduction in official RRP.
Fans of LE SSERAFIM (Fearnots) can also get a chance to take a photo with life-sized standees of the girl group at the Sony Store. Sony also said it would like the fans to “keep a lookout for upcoming announcements on exciting events”, happening between 22 October and 6 November 2024.

Sony’s WH-1000XM5 (review here) is the fifth-generation, over-ear headphone equivalent. It eventually won Editor’s Choice for Best Noise Cancelling Headphones at Tech Awards 2023. Considering the sheer number of audio products we’ve tested, it’s not an easy win for either devices.
