EU users will not get Apple Intelligence features at launch.

Apple's new AI system for the iPhone, iPad and Mac will not launch in the EU this year,

The Financial Times reports that the Digital Markets Act (DMA) is the reason for the delay in the availability of Apple Intelligence for EU users.

To recap, it is the DMA that forced Apple to switch to USB-C for the iPhone and allow alternative app stores in the EU.

In a statement to Bloomberg, Apple says the interoperability requirements of the DMA might compromise the integrity of its products in ways that risk user privacy and data security. Therefore, it is holding back its launch in the EU for now.

In a separate statement to Financial Times, the iPhone maker added that features like iPhone Mirroring and SharePlay Screen Sharing enhancements will also not be rolled out to EU users this year.

Apple shared a few days ago that not all of Apple Intelligence's new features will be available at launch as some advanced features are expected to take longer to implement. For EU users, it is almost certain that they will not get Apple Intelligence anytime soon.
