Adobe Releases Photoshop Lightroom 5
Adobe today released Photoshop Lightroom 5, which includes new features like an advanced healing brush, radial filter, upright perspective tool and space-saving Smart Previews. The new version costs US$149 for a perpetual license and US$79 to upgrade from a previous version of Lightroom.
Adobe today released Photoshop Lightroom 5, which includes new features like an advanced healing brush, radial filter, upright perspective tool and space-saving Smart Previews. The new version costs US$149 for a perpetual license and US$79 to upgrade from a previous version of Lightroom.
Adobe says it's fixed more than 500 bugs since the beta was released in April, and it has integrated Lightroom 5 with the social network Behance. Lightroom 5 is launching 15 months after Lightroom 4 with the same pricing (however, Lightroom 4 was significantly cheaper than the US$299 retail price of Lightroom 3).
Unlike the rest of Creative Suite which is shifting to the Creative Cloud and a subscription-based model, Adobe has confirmed that Lightroom will stand alone and has "no plans to make Lightroom subscription-only at any point in the future."
