The massive Star Wars gift guide, 2017 edition

Here’s a little something for every Star Wars geek in your life.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi is out! Here are all things Star Wars we’re geeking out over — and that wouldn’t make a bad gift for the Star Wars fan in your life.

1) Hot Toys: Rey (Jedi Training)

Hot Toys makes some of the best toys around, so much so it’s almost wrong to call them toys. This Rey figure from The Last Jedi comes with a new head sculpt, and her LED lightsaber even lights up. Unfortunately, this 1/6th scale collectible will only be out sometime next year, so Hot Toys Rey won’t make it in time for Christmas.

Find out more about the Hot Toys: Rey (Jedi Training) figure here.

(Psst! If Hot Toys figures are out of your budget, S.H. Figuarts also has its own version of Rey from The Last Jedi that won’t break the bank.)

2) Star Wars: Jedi Challenges (Lenovo Mirage AR headset)

This AR game system comes with a Lenovo Mirage AR headset, a lightsaber controller, and a tracking beacon, and oh yeah, it lets you duel Darth Vader in augmented reality. And yes, we've even tried it out.

Get the Star Wars: Jedi Challenges (Lenovo Mirage AR headset) (S$379) here.

3) Columbia Star Wars Jackets

The limited edition Columbia Star Wars: Rogue One jackets sold out in less time than the Millennium Falcon took to make the Kessel Run. This year’s Empire Strikes Back collection has … also sold out in pretty much the same time, but if the Force is with you, you might still be able to find them online or on the resale market.

Find out more about the Columbia Star Wars Jackets here.

4) Samsung Powerbot Star Wars Edition Robot Vacuum

These special editions of Samsung’s VR7000 robot vacuum feature the mug of either Darth Vader or a Stormtrooper, cleaning with accompanying sound effects and musical score. How does it sound? We gave it a quick try:-

It is available in all major electronics stores, and you can find out even more about the Samsung Powerbot Star Wars Edition Robot Vacuum here.

5) Lego Ultimate Collectors Series Millennium Falcon (75192)

There have been other Lego Millennium Falcons, but with 7,500 elements, this is the most intricate Lego Millenium Falcon yet. The Corellian ship comes with rich exteriors, a detachable canopy, and detailed interiors. Swap out the crew and the sensor dish and you’ve got either the classic Falcon from the original trilogy or the new Episode VII/VIII version.

(Unfortunately, it appears to be sold out at the moment, but Lego promises to bring it back. Fingers crossed.)

Find out more about the Lego Ultimate Collectors Series Millennium Falcon (75192) (US$799.99) here.

6) NVIDIA Titan Xp Collector’s Edition

Whether you swing light side or dark, NVIDIA has a graphics card for you. The card is available in two flavors, a Galactic Empire card that glows a malevolent red (also the color of the Sith), and a Jedi Order card that lights up in green. It’s not just the lighting that differentiates the cards however, and the cooling shroud of both cards have been designed to reflect the characteristics of their respective factions. Find out more about the NVIDIA Titan XP Star Wars over here.

Get the NVIDIA Titan Xp Collector’s Edition (US$1,138) here.

7) Lenovo Star Wars Special Edition Yoga 920

Pledge your allegiance with the special edition Yoga 920 2-in-1 laptop from Lenovo. There are two variants, one emblazoned with the Rebel Alliance’s emblem, and the other with the Galactic Empire’s.

Find out more about the Lenovo Star Wars Special Edition Yoga 920 (from S$2,999) here.

If the Sith Lord has clouded your mind, get the Galactic Empire edition from Hachi.tech. Still a die-hard Rebel scum? The Alliance edition is waiting for you over here.

8) Kylo Ren Mini Tsum Tsum

Kylo Ren as a mini Tsum Tsum that looks almost like a black piggy? Yes, we’ll take one! Besides this weird but adorable version of everyone’s favorite emo-goth Sith, there are other Star Wars Tsum Tsums available, like BB-8, Queen Amidala, and young Obi-Wan.

Get the Kylo Ren Mini Tsum Tsum (US$11.98) here.

9) Darth Vader Unmasked Mimobot Star Wars USB Flash Drive

Mimobot actually has a range of Star Wars USB flash drives, but the Vader one is the coolest. That’s because when you pull off, say, Yoda’s USB cap to reveal the port, you basically decapitate the Jedi master. But when you pull off Vader’s helmet, you see the true face of the Sith Lord — a horribly under-moisturized Anakin Skywalker.

Get the Darth Vader Unmasked Mimobot Star Wars USB Flash Drive (US$19.99) here.

10) Star Wars x Cargo Cosmetics

Speaking about skincare, Cargo Cosmetics has a range of cosmetics inspired by the Resistance and the First Order. Might as well look good if you’re going to be ruling the galaxy or liberating it.

Get the Star Wars x Cargo Cosmetics (ranging from US$20 to US$28) here.

11) Star Wars Cutesy Roll Plush

You know you want a little Porg to hug and and kiss and love forever. If an adorable alien penguin isn’t your thing, you can also pick from soft Chewie or squashy Yoda.

Get the Star Wars Cutesy Roll Plush (US$29.99) here.

14) Sphero R2-D2

https://www.youtube.com/embed/jwEkC2w4fcI

Yes, this is the droid we’re looking for. Sphero previously made the adorable BB-8 into an app-enabled robot, but it’s classic R2-D2 that steals our hearts. R2’s head rotates and reacts just like in the movies, and it ships with its movie sound effects.

Get the Sphero R2-D2 (S$239) here.
