We live in a society.

HBO Max has released a meaty new trailer for Zack Snyder’s Justice League before its debut in March. The trailer shows off a ton of scenes that were cut from the original version of Justice League, including Barry Allen swooping in to save someone from a car accident and Superman donning his post-resurrection black suit.

For Zack Snyder’s Justice League, the director was given a sizable budget to go back and add new material via reshoots, re-recorded audio and extra CGI work. That means we’re also getting lots of newly-minted content, such as Jared Leto reprising his role as Joker from Suicide Squad (2016). He even utters the ‘We live in a society’ meme that gained popularity after the release of Joker, which has fans amused, to say the least.

This version of Justice League is a whopping four hours long, and it looks like Snyder is padding out that runtime with new scenes focusing on Batman’s nightmare of an apocalyptic future and the villainous Darkseid. HBO’s synopsis for the movie is as follows:

In ZACK SNYDER’S JUSTICE LEAGUE, determined to ensure Superman’s (Henry Cavill) ultimate sacrifice was not in vain, Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) aligns forces with Diana Prince (Gal Gadot) with plans to recruit a team of metahumans to protect the world from an approaching threat of catastrophic proportions. The task proves more difficult than Bruce imagined, as each of the recruits must face the demons of their own pasts to transcend that which has held them back, allowing them to come together, finally forming an unprecedented league of heroes. Now united, Batman (Affleck), Wonder Woman (Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), Cyborg (Ray Fisher) and The Flash (Ezra Miller) may be too late to save the planet from Steppenwolf, DeSaad and Darkseid and their dreadful intentions.

Zack Snyder’s Justice League will hit HBO Max on March 18, 2021. In Asia, the movie will launch on HBO Go on the same day.
