It’s almost here.
HBO Max and Zack Snyder have announced a release date for the long-awaited ‘Snyder Cut’ of Justice League. The full-length movie will hit HBO Max on March 18, but it will also premiere on the same day in Asia via HBO GO. Snyder also debuted new teaser art for the film, which hints at a darker tone for his version of Justice League.
Justice League was originally directed by Zack Snyder, before he stepped down due to a family tragedy. Warner Bros. Pictures then tapped Joss Whedon (The Avengers) to handle the rest of production as well as reshoots, after Snyder had intended to bring him on to write additional scenes for the film. The final version of Justice League that hit theaters was an awkward Whedon-Snyder hybrid, earning controversy due to its poor quality and the fact that Snyder’s original vision for the movie had been painted over haphazardly.

After years upon years of rumours and extensive fan campaigning however, it was announced that Snyder’s original cut of the movie would be released. It would take millions more to complete the film and bring on actors for reshoots, but the end result is finally here. For better or worse, we’re about to see Zack Snyder’s Justice League in all of its grimdark glory.
Zack Snyder’s Justice League is reportedly four hours long, and there was even talk at one point to turn it into a miniseries due to the length. Here’s HBO’s updated synopsis for the movie:
In ZACK SNYDER’S JUSTICE LEAGUE, determined to ensure Superman’s (Henry Cavill) ultimate sacrifice was not in vain, Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) aligns forces with Diana Prince (Gal Gadot) with plans to recruit a team of metahumans to protect the world from an approaching threat of catastrophic proportions. The task proves more difficult than Bruce imagined, as each of the recruits must face the demons of their own pasts to transcend that which has held them back, allowing them to come together, finally forming an unprecedented league of heroes. Now united, Batman (Affleck), Wonder Woman (Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), Cyborg (Ray Fisher) and The Flash (Ezra Miller) may be too late to save the planet from Steppenwolf, DeSaad and Darkseid and their dreadful intentions.
