Game Pass continues to be the best deal in gaming.
Ubisoft has announced that its upcoming co-op multiplayer shooter Rainbow Six Extraction is coming to Xbox Game Pass at launch. PC and Console subscribers will be able to play the game the day it releases on 20 January, 2021, at no additional cost to their subscription.
In addition to this, Ubisoft is also bringing its own subscription service, Ubisoft+, to Xbox platforms ‘in the future’. Ubisoft+ gives subscribers access to over 100 games from the publisher, such as Far Cry 6 and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. New games like Rainbow Six Extraction also launch on Ubisoft+ on release day.
Before you get your hopes raised however, let me clarify: Ubisoft+ is coming to Xbox consoles, not Xbox Game Pass. It will launch as its own separate subscription, so you will have to pay extra to access Ubisoft’s library of games on Xbox consoles. Ubisoft will likely announce release date and pricing details for the service later on.
To sum up: Rainbow Six Extraction and Rainbow Six Siege will arrive on Xbox Game Pass on 20 January, 2021. Ubisoft+ will arrive on Xbox consoles at a later date. Rainbow Six Extraction brings back Operators from Siege as they battle against a global alien invasion. Players will enter hostile areas filled with aliens, working together in teams as they attempt to extract critical intelligence or fallen squad members.
