First the Oculus Rift, now the HTC Vive VR headset gets a pre-order date

Of the three VR headsets set to come out Q1 2016, only the Oculus Rift has a price and release date. Well, if you're waiting to know how much the HTC Vive will cost, the good news is the wait will be over soon. How soon? Find out inside.

Will the HTC Vive be US$599 like the Oculus Rift? We're betting no. It'll be higher.

The Oculus Rift just started taking pre-orders a few days ago but so far, response for the VR headset definitely has not been as positive as Oculus VR would've wanted. That's mainly due to the deception the company perpetuated for the last few months, stringing hopeful early adopters along with vague statements that hint that the Oculus Rift would be in the ballpark of around US$350.

If you're holding out for the HTC Vive though, you don't need to wait much longer before pre-orders open. HTC has revealed that the VR headset will be open for pre-orders next month, on February 29th.

Like the Oculus Rift pre-order date announcement, no price has been revealed for the headset but with HTC and Valve repeatedly claiming that the HTC Vive is aimed to deliver the best premium experience it can, expect the device to be at least US$599 (the price of the Oculus Rift).

The HTC Vive is set to launch sometime in April 2016, if earlier reports are accurate.

The final headset on track for a supposed Q1 2016 release, the Sony Playstation VR, is meant for use with the PS4 only. though It still doesn't have a pre-order date or price.
