Shopping for a new laptop? Be sure to read this before you head down.

It’s shopping season as we head into the end of the year. The Tech Show is happening now at Suntec Convention Centre, levels 3 and 4. If you are looking for a new laptop, it’s not a bad place to start your search, and this is the article you’ll want to read. To help you, I was at Suntec the moment the show opened to see what deals could be had. Here’s what I found.

As a reminder, The Tech Show is taking place this weekend from 30 Oct to 2 Nov at Suntec Convention Centre, levels 3 and 4. It runs from 12pm to 9pm.

Readers looking for a high-end laptop should visit Acer and check out the Swift X 14 AI. The base configuration features a 14.5-inch 3K OLED display and is powered by the Intel Core Ultra 7 255H processor. It has 32GB of memory, a 1TB SSD, and also discrete graphics in the form of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5050. It’s priced at S$2,499.

The Lunar 14 is Aftershock’s ultraportable laptop. It weighs 1.4kg and it comes with a 14-inch display that has a resolution of 2880 x 1800 pixels and a high 120Hz refresh rate. It also comes with 16GB of memory and a 1TB SSD. It’s S$1,099 (U.P. S$1,293).

If you are looking for an affordable 16-inch laptop, check out the ASUS Vivobook 16. The 16-inch display has a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels, and it’s powered by the Intel Core i5-13420H processor. It has 16GB of memory and a 512GB SSD. It’s going for S$699.

One of the most affordable laptops I found at the show was the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim. It has a 14-inch Full-HD display and it’s powered by AMD’s Ryzen 5 7520U processor. It comes with 16GB of memory and a 1TB SSD. It’s going for just S$679 (U.P. S$699).

The gram 14 is one of the lightest laptops you’ll find at the show. Weighing just 1.12kg, it has a 14-inch display with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels. It’s powered by the Intel Core Ultra 7 255H processor with 16GB of memory and 512GB SSD. It has a 72Wh battery, and the claimed battery life is up to 30 hours. It’s going for S$1,799 (U.P. S$2,249) and comes with a free upgrade to a 1TB SSD.

Those looking for a convertible laptop should definitely check out the Surface Pro. It’s equally adept at being a tablet and a conventional laptop. The 12-inch PixelSense display has a high resolution of 2196 x 1464 pixels, and it’s powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X Plus chip with 16GB of memory and a 256GB SSD. It’s going for S$1,199 (U.P. S$1,354). Every purchase also comes with free Microsoft 365 Personal, a cleaning kit, a laptop bag, and a phone strap.

The Modern 14 AMD was another 14-inch laptop that I found for under S$1,000. Its 14-inch display has a Full-HD resolution, and it’s powered by the AMD Ryzen 7 7730U processor. It has 16GB of memory and a 512GB SSD. It’s going for S$898 (U.P. S$1,099).
