It looks like ZTE’s second attempt at a phone with an under-display camera would come to Singapore.

Last month, the Chinese telecommunications firm announced the ZTE Axon 30 5G. The phone combines all the classic features of a modern mobile alongside its second attempt at an under-display camera.

ZTE Axon 30 5G packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor, a 2021 chipset that’s 5G-ready, and a higher-clocked version of the Snapdragon 865+.

ZTE said it brought about a “qualitative leap” in the under-display camera by using a special pixel matrix, unique driver circuits, an independent display chip, and additional in-house selfie algorithms. All these are accompanied by a front camera with a 2.24um pixel size (pixel-binned, 4-in-1).

The 6.92-inch AMOLED FHD+ screen has a 120Hz refresh rate and 360Hz touch sampling rate, on top of 100% coverage of the DCI-P3 colour gamut, and support for 10-bit colour depth. It also comes certified for blue light reduction, eyesight protection, and DC dimming.

While it already has 12GB RAM built-in, the Android 11 phone uses “self-developed memory fusion technology” to create up to 5GB additional virtual RAM, should you need it.

The rear packs four cameras: 64MP main, 8MP ultra-wide (120° FOV), 5MP macro, and a 2MP depth-of-field sensor. Photography features include Super Night Mode, and post-processing gets 3D Lut filters for further customisation.

The battery department packs 4,500mAh capacity and 55W fast-charging, with a custom-made cooling system (a liquid-cooled plate, thermal gel, and graphene copper-based materials) to ensure consistent performance even under extreme loads.

Come 9 September 2021, the ZTE Axon 30 5G goes on sale at its official online store. While the product page or local pricing isn’t out yet, folks based in Singapore can subscribe to its mailing list for updates and purchase the early-bird coupon for the device. According to GizmoChina, its U.S. official retail price is US$499 (~S$678.48).
